Madeira Airport Terminal
Madeira Airport consists of a single terminal building.
Its construction was quite challenging due to the terrain limitations and particularities: The terminal is partially underground and the runway had to be extended into the ocean thanks to 180 columns given the lack of space.
Madeira Airport has a single long runway, one of the most dangerous in the world, which requires pilots’ special training.

Level 0
This level is split into Arrivals and Departures, where Schengen and non-Schengen flights are hosted.
Find also a transfer hall and boarding gates, both for Schengen and non-Schengen.

Level 1
